Winter Sky

Quite a bit of color in the sky around sunset last night, but I chose to shoot in black and white.  Sort of fit my mood and I like the photo.
Took this photo in the field across the street from my house.  I take many pictures there.  It's a challenge to catch different moments in the same spot.

"When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused."
Rainer Maria Rilke

My mind wanders to the sea today and a time when I once sailed upon its waters.   Idyllic days.
Heading to the coast of Maine in April - photo below.  It can't come soon enough.

55 degrees!

Yes, that was the temperature today on this last day in January.  Hard to believe.  Not complaining, but it sure is an odd winter.  I hear birds singing in the morning, my daffodils are coming up.  Feels like spring - rather surreal.
I've been laid up with a stomach virus for 4 days now.  Getting stronger each day, but not 100%.   I'm a terrible sick person, no patience for illness.   I did manage to go out yesterday morning and shoot the sunrise.   I'm including a few pictures of from Swago Pond that I took before I got hit with this pesky virus.   Enjoy!

Sunrise - red sky in the morning...

Another sunrise - just across the street -  the view from my bedroom.  Great way to wake up.
