Anais Nin once said, "We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in the retrospect." I feel much the same about photography. My camera goes everywhere with me. I am learning to see the world from a different perspective, and at the same time, tasting life twice. It's a great adventure.

Final day in Maine
Ah, today is my last day by the sea. I am savoring it and thank God the sun finally came out. Yep, I had about 4 hours of brilliant sunshine. Went to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in Bristol, Maine. Fell in love with the rocks more than the lighthouse. And, the sea stretching out in front of me and me being the only one there!I am sometimes confused with my love of solitude because I love people too. But, these past 5 days of aloneness have been wonderfully comforting. Yet, I'm ready to go home. And, I imagine I'll be surrounded by people for a good part of my weekend.
For now, I gaze out at the sea from my room and hold onto its magic for one more evening. The clouds have rolled in once again, but it's ok. The clouds hold their own fascination and I've photographed them lots the past few days. That Joni Mitchell cloud song keeps going through my head..
Today I'll post some pictures of the rocks at Pemaquid. Such great formations. Supposedly, if you get there at the right time between tides, the waves crashing on the rocks are spectacular. My timing was obviously off, but there was still much beauty there.

Maine and the sea
It's raining like crazy outside right now . But, it still feels wonderfully peaceful in my room here by the sea. This has been the best vacation I've had in awhile. I keep thinking it's because I didn't have many plans, but let each day unfold on its own. Plus, I'm staying a bit longer than I usually do on my mini-trips.Today I went to Port Clyde. It's a small fishing village loaded with charm. Especially liked the "Hard To Starboard" coffee and only $1/cup. No decaf in that fishing village! Friendly people too. Love the photo of the lighthouse just outside Port Clyde. Great spot. Plus, I was the only one there.
